Cold, fog hit people in Lalmonirhat, Kurigram

The daily lives of people in certain areas of Kurigram and Lalmonirhat have been severely impacted by extreme cold and dense fog. 

Locals have reported that the sun has not been visible since Sunday. 

The cold weather has had a particularly devastating effect on the poor inhabitants of the char areas near various rivers. 

Daily activities have been disrupted, with day laborers unable to work due to the cold, and a lack of winter clothing has only added to their suffering. 

Many are unable to afford winter clothes and have resorted to huddling around straw fires for warmth. 

Even during the day, vehicles have been seen driving with headlights on due to the absence of sunlight. 

The cold and fog have caused bodies to freeze, making it difficult for farmers to work in the crop fields. 

Weather forecasts predict that the cold waves may intensify from December 20. 

In response to the situation, relief authorities have allocated blankets for the affected residents, with plans for additional distribution if necessary.
