4 UPDF leaders shot dead in Khagrachhari

Miscreants shot dead four leaders of the Praseet-led political party United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) in Panchhari of Khagrachhari. The incident happened at the Fatehpur area of Panchhari Upazila's ward no 9 at around 10pm on Monday.

Two more UPDF members were abducted by the miscreants in this incident, the party's leaders alleged.

The deceased are- Bipul Chakma, Liton Chakma, Sunil Tripura, and Ruhinsa Tripura. Moreover, Kamal Tripura and Niti Dutta Chakma are missing.

According to the locals, the incident happened due to a territorial dispute. On the other hand, UPDF District Organiser Ongya Marma said the UPDF (Democratic) faction caused the incident.

Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Mukta Dhar said they could not confirm the matter yet.
