Motorcycle rider killed in Jashore road accident

A Motorcycle rider was killed in a road accident on the Jashore-Benapole highway in the Navaron old bazar area under the Sharsha upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Deed-writer Ashraful Islam, 36, son of Nazrul Islam of Basotpur village of Baghachra union of the upazila.

According to the police and eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when Ashraful Islam was returned home from the Godkhali area in Jhikorgacha upazila riding a Motorcycle; it collided head-on with a Truck coming from the opposite direction around 9pm, leaving him dead on the spot, said sub-inspector (SI) of Navaron highway Mofizur Rahman.

Police seized the Truck from the spot. A case was filed with the Sharsha police station in this connection.
