Road accident kills one in Gopalganj

A man was killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a private car on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Rataile area under Kashiani upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as private car driver Mohammad Ullah, 38, son of Abdul Latif Master of Sanbanda village in Manikganj district.

The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of 'Emad Paribahan' from Khulna collided head-on with a Satkhira-bound private car coming from the opposite direction in the area around 9am, leaving the private car driver dead on the spot and three others injured, Inspector of Kashiani Highway Police Abul Hasem Majumdar said.

The car and bus both caught fire as the gas cylinder of the vehicle exploded after the accident. The injured were taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, he said.
