Panchagargh's temperature record low today

Panchagarh on Wednesday experienced the country's lowest temperature during this winter season at 7.4 degrees Celcius. The temperature was logged at the Tetulia met office in the morning.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that as the lowest temperature is between 6-8 degrees Celcius, it is a sign of a moderate cold snap.

Earlier on Tuesday, the district's lowest temperature was recorded at 10.7 degrees Celcius, and the highest was 17.2 degrees Celcius.

Dense fog started to blanket the area after dusk on Tuesday, and precipitation occurred all night. Additionally, freezing air from the north has added to the woes of people in Panchagarh.

The met office added that a blanket of fog prevailed in the area on Wednesday morning as well. The weather has caused immense suffering to the working-class people in the district.

Robiul Islam, an autorickshaw driver at Panchagargh city's Purana Camp area, said, "Due to the cold, people do not want to ride an autorickshaw unless it is urgent. Our income has halved. We are spending our days in immense suffering along with our family."
