Clash breaks out, 2 shot

A clash broke out between the supporters of Awami League candidate and independent candidate at the Pahartali College polling centre in the Chattogram-10 constituency on Sunday. Two people were shot during this incident.

The two injured were identified as Shanto Borua, 24, and Md Jamal, 35. They were both admitted to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), the hospital's police box in-charge SI Nurul Alam Ashek said.

Confirming the matter, Nagar Police (North) Deputy Commissioner Mokhlechur Rahman said, voting was ongoing peacefully in the morning. However, suddenly a clash broke out between the supporters of Awami League candidate Mohiuddin Bacchu with the 'Boat' symbol, and independent candidate Mohammad Monjur Alam with the 'Cauliflower' symbol. Two people were shot during the incident.
