Pickup van torched in Bogura

Miscreants set fire to a pickup van in the Sadar Upazila of Bogura late on Sunday. There was no casualty in this incident.

Bogura Sadar Police Station SI Rahim Rana said the pickup van from Dupchachia was going to Charmatha on Sunday night. The driver slowed down due to wind at the Erulia Bazar area on the Bogura-Naogaon Regional Highway at around 11:30pm. Miscreants took the chance to throw patrol on the vehicle and set it on fire.

SI Rana said the driver was able to escape the fire safely. However, the cabin of the pickup van was damaged in the fire.

"Miscreants caused this incident to spread terror on the night of polls. Efforts are ongoing to detain them. A case will be filed with the Sadar Police Station in this connection," he said.
