Gas supply restored in Chattogram

After a technical glitch which shut off the gas supply in Chattogram on Friday morning, the flow of LNG was restored in the division.

The flow of LNG will fully return to normal after Saturday noon, according to Petrobangla and Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL).

Following technical glitches in the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) of liquefied natural gas at Maheshkhali, the gas supply was shut in Chattogram at around 2am on Friday.

Both commercial and residential consumers in Chattogram were hit by the crisis. Many people were unable to cook and restaurants ran out of food. Long lines of vehicles were seen at CNG filling stations. Commuters were seen waiting for vehicles on the roads.
