Dense fog causes crash, kills two

Dense fog in Kurigram's Bhurungamari caused a head-on collision between a locally made Nasiman vehicle and a motorcycle, killing a man and his son early on Sunday (January 21).

The accident occurred at the Pateshwari area on the Bongsonahat landport road. The two deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam, 48, and his son Biplab, 25, from Sorkartari village of Kochakata thana.

According to locals, the dense fog causes almost zero visibility in the area. One man was injured and one died in an accident in the same area last week.

Biplab and his father were coming home from Bhurungamari when their motorcycle collided head-on with the Nasiman coming from the opposite direction. Locals rushed them to the Upazila Health complex after the accident.

Confirming the matter, Bhurungamari Police Station Officer in Charge Ruhul Amin said, "It is assumed that the accident happened due to dense fog. The father and son were rescued and taken to the health complex where the doctors declared them dead."
