Bus runs over bike, kills 2 in Tangail

A bus ran over a motorcycle, killing the man and his mother who were riding the vehicle, in Jhawail of Tangail at around 7:30am on Saturday.

The two deceased were identified as China Begum, 48, and her song Shakib Miah, 19.

Confirming the matter, Gopalpur Police Station Officer in Charge Emdadul Islam Tyeb said Shakib was driving the motorcycle and his mother was the pilion rider. They were going to Gopalpur Upazila Sadar on Saturday morning. A bus coming from the opposite direction hit their bike and both the woman and her son died on the spot.

The bus was seized, but the driver fled the scene, he said.
