3 killed in Magura road accident

Three people were killed and five others injured in a collision between a local passenger vehicle called "Mahendra" and a bus in Shalikha upazila of the district on Friday night. 

The deceased were identified as Modhu Sikder, 55, Nirupa Rani Dey, 50, and Pushpa Rani Dey, 48. 

All the victims hailed from Bagherpara upazila in Jashore district. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shalikha Thana Gautam Thakur said the accident occurred around 9 pm in Hajambari area under the upazila while they were returning home after taking part a religious function in Sreepur of Magura district, leaving two women dead on the spot and injuring others.

The wounded were taken to Magura Sadar Hospital where another succumbed to his injuries, the OC added.
