Truck-private car collision kills 5 in Habiganj

A head-on collision between a truck and a private car killed five people at Madhabpur of Habiganj early on Thursday. 

The collision occurred in the Haritola area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at around 1:30am. 

Confirming the matter, Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rakibul Islam Khan said the private car came from Dhaka and collided with a truck going in the opposite direction. The impact severely damaged the car and killed the passengers on the spot. 

The OC added that one of the deceased is a woman. All five bodies were recovered and kept at the morgue of Habiganj Sadar Hospital. Their identities could not be found immediately. The vehicles involved in the collision were seized.
