9 dead, 3 missing in Rohingya camp landslide

Nine people died in landslides after heavy rain in the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday morning. 

Confirming the matter, Armed Police Battalion (APBn) 8 Captain Amir Jafar said landslides occurred at Balukhali Panbazar and Hakim para. Five died at the Panbazar camp and four died at the Hakimpara camp. Three people are still missing. Rescue operations are still underway. 

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. However, Ukhiya Police Station Officer in Charge Md Shamim Hossain said that among the deceased there are several women, a child, and a teenager.
