Jamuna River flowing 38cm above danger level in Sirajganj

The water level of the Jamuna River is flowing 38 centimetres above the danger level in Sirajganj. 

According to the Water Development Board's (WDB) estimates at 6am on Friday, the river's water level rose 15 centimetres in the last 24 hours. As the water level has crossed the danger level in both Kazipur district point and upazila point, the low-lying areas of the district have become inundated. 

Sirajganj WDB Executive Engineer Mr Mahbubur Rahman said the water level will likely rise to 60-80 cm above the danger level. However, that will not cause the flood situation to deteriorate.
