Bus-autorickshaw collision kills 2 in Lakshmipur

A head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw resulted in the death of two men in Lakshmipur on Thursday. The incident also injured 10 people. 

The two deceased were identified as Nurul Amin, 70, of the Kongso Narayan area under the Sadar Upazila, and Safayet Hossain Taher, 28, of Bangakha village under the same upazila. A total of 10 people including the autorickshaw driver and five passengers were admitted to the hospital after they were injured in the incident. 

According to police and locals, A Star Line bus from Chattogram collided with the autorickshaw at the Mandari area on the Dhaka-Lakhsmipur road. The collision heavily damaged the autorickshaw. The injured were rushed to the Sadar Hospital. However, three of them were in critical condition. Two of them died while they were being rushed to Dhaka for better treatment. 

Confirming the incident, Chadraganj Highway Police Assistant SI Nur Mohammad said the vehicles involved in the collision were seized.
