8 missing as fishing trawler capsizes in Bay of Bengal

A fishing trawler carrying 13 crew has capsized off Charfesson in the Bay of Bengal. Other boats nearby managed to rescue five fishermen, but eight remain missing. 

According to the trawler's owner Md Rubel Chokidar, the trawler was coming back after fishing in the bay for 8 days when it capsized on Friday afternoon near the Shibchar area at the estuary. River Police and the Coast Guard are trying to rescue the missing. 

Confirming the matter, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Maruf Hossain Minar said the Charmanika Zone Coast Guard was notified to rescue the missing fishermen.
