Army officer stabbed to death in Cox's Bazar

An army officer was stabbed to death by robbers during a drive in Cox's Bazar's Chokoria area early on Tuesday. 

The deceased was identified as Lt Tanzim Sarowar Nirjon, 23. 

Confirming the matter, Chokoria Police Station Officer in Charge Manzur Quader Bhuiyan said a group of 7-8 robbers attacked the house of Rezaul Karim in Maizpara village of Dulahajra. Upon learning about the attack, a team of army personnel led by Lt Tanzim conducted a drive at the house at around 4am. While chasing the fleeing miscreants, one of them stabbed Lt Tanzim's neck, causing profuse bleeding. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Tanzim was rushed to the Malumghat Memorial Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead. 

Lt Tanzim's body is kept at the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
