Lightning kills 4 fishermen in Sunamganj

At least four people were killed after being struck by lightning while catching fish in the haors of Dowarabazar, Jamalganj, and Chhatak upazilas of Sunamganj district on Sunday.

Additional Police Super of Sunamganj Jakir Hossain confirmed the deaths to the Daily Samakal. 

The deceased are Jalal Miah, 30, son of Chan Miah, Jashim Uddin, 28, son of Nurul Haque, residents of Polirchar village under Pandargaon union in Dowarabazar upazila, Sharif Miah, 35, son of Abdul Latif of Kalaguja village under Jamalganj upazila of the district, and Sundor Ali of Mollikpur village under Chhatak Sadar Union. 

All four of the deceased were fishing at the time of their death.
