Oil tankers derail, snap Khulna's rail connection with rest of country

Eight tankers of an oil-laden train derailed at Jibonnagar of Chuadanga early on Wednesday, snapping Khulna's rail connection with the rest of the country. 

The incident occurred at the Uthli Railway Station. Khulna-bound Chitra and Shimanto Express trains became marooned at the station, causing suffering to a few hundred passengers. 

Confirming the matter, Uthli Railway Station Master Mintu Kumar Roy said the train derailed near the station's down signal point. A relief train will soon reach the spot to start rescue operations.
