Hasanat Abdullah’s son Serniabat Moinuddin Abdullah arrested

Former Member of Parliament Abul Hasanat Abdullah’s  son Serniabat Moinuddin Abdullah has been arrested from the capital’s Gulshan area in the early hours of Saturday.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the arrest to the media.

He said Serniabat Abdullah, also cousin of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was arrested by a team of Detective Branch of DMP from Gulshan-2 area at 3:30 am.

Several cases were filed against him under various sections of the Penal Code, including the Explosives Act, in Barishal, the police official added.
