Missing youth's body recovered from Padma

The body of a schoolboy was recovered from the Padma River at Doulatpur upazila of Kushtia on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Shojib, 15, who hailed from Philipnagar village under Doulatpur upazila. He was a class nine student at Philipnagar High School.

Shojib went missing in the river last noon when bathing with his friends in the Golabaria village area.

Station Officer of Bheramara Fire Service Shariful Islam said divers from Khulna recovered his body from the river around 9 am.

Later, the schoolboy's body was handed over to his family. An unnatural death (UD) case was filed in this regard, he added.
