Sajek, Khagrachhari open to tourists after month-long restriction

The authorities have lifted month long tourism restriction on two popular tourist destinations - Sajek Valley and Khagrachhari – on Tuesday.

Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner Md Shahiduzzaman told journalists that all tourist centres in the district are now open, with Sajek Valley reachable via the Khagrachhari district road.

The reopening of Sajek Valley and Khagrachhari is expected to revitalise tourism in the area.

Following violence in Khagrachhari and Rangamati on September 19 and 20, the local administrations imposed restriction initially imposed on September 25.

On October 8, the restriction was expanded to a complete tourism pause across the three hill districts.
