Muntaha's body found after 7 days

Seven days after a child named Muntaha went missing in Kanaihat of Sylhet, her body was found in her home's pond early on Sunday. 

Kanaighat Police Station Sub-Inspector Khaled Ahmed confirmed the matter. 

According to locals, Muntaha, 5, is the daughter of Shamim Ahmed of Vararifoud village under Kanaighat Sadar Union. On 3 November, she went out of the house to play with neighbours' children but did not return home in the afternoon. 

Muntaha's disappearance created a stir in the social media platforms. Her family claimed that she was abducted. A general diary (GD) was filed with the Kanaighat Police Station in this incident. Her family also announced rewards for finding her.
