Woman shot dead on Dhaka-Mawa expressway

The body of an unidentified woman who was shot to death was found on the Dhaka-Mawa expressway early on Saturday morning. 

Locals found the body of the woman of around 24 years of age at the Dogacchi Service Lane area at around 8:30am and informed the police, who recovered the body. 

Police said 5 bullet shells were also found near the body. It is assumed that after killing her, the body was dropped from a running car. 

Locals said, the woman was seen walking accompanied by a man at dawn on Saturday. Pedestrians found her bullet-riddle body a few hours later. 

However, locals could not identify the man who was accompanying her. It also could not be confirmed whether there were any more people involved in the murder. 

Confirming the matter, Srinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kaiyum Uddin Chowdhury said five gunshot wounds were found on the woman's body. Police are trying to recover CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.  Police are also trying to find the identity of the deceased. Her body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
