Pagla Mosque donations cross Tk 8 crore

Authorities at the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj have collected the record amount of Tk 8,21,34,304, as counted on Saturday (30 November). 

Pagla Mosque Administrative Officer Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan confirmed that this is the highest amount of donations ever received at the mosque. Previously on 17 August the collected amount was Tk 7,22,13,046.

The donation boxes at the mosque are opened for counting and collecting the donations once every three months. Counting on Saturday started at 7am and ended at 6pm. A total of 29 sacks of money was collected from the 11 donation boxes. A variety of foreign currency, jewellery, letters and notes were also found. After counting, the money was sent to Rupali Bank.
