Case filed over murder of woman on Dhaka-Mawa expressway

A case was filed with the Srinagar Police Station in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found on the Dhaka-Mawa expressway on Saturday. 

Jarina Begum, mother of the deceased Shahida Begum, filed the case on Sunday. Shahida's lover Touhid was named as the prime accused in the case. 

Confirming the matter, Srinagar Police Station Officer in Charge Kaiyum Uddin Chowdhury said police are conducting drives to arrest Touhid. 

Locals found Shahida's body at the Dogacchi Service Lane area at around 8:30 am on Saturday and informed the police, who recovered the body. 

Police said 5 bullet shells were also found near the body. It is assumed that after killing her, the body was dropped from a running car. 

Locals said, the woman was seen walking accompanied by a man at dawn on Saturday. Pedestrians found her bullet-riddle body a few hours later. 

However, locals could not identify the man who was accompanying her. It also could not be confirmed whether there were any more people involved in the murder.
