Bodies of two missing tourists recovered in Rangamati

Police recovered the bodies of two missing tourists from the Karnaphuli River in the Sitaghat area under the Kaptai upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Shawon Dutta, 17, and Prionto, 15.

Shilangchhari ward UP member M Sarowar said the bodies of the missing two people were found around 7:30 am. 

Being informed, an eight-member police team rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the river, said Shahadat Hossain, senior station officer of Kaptai Fire Service and Civil Defence.

They went missing at noon on December 24 while taking a bath in the Sitaghat area of the Karnaphuli River.
