3 dead in Rupganj road accidents

Three people died in two separate accidents in Rupganj of Narayanganj. Five others were injured in the accidents which occurred on the Ruposhi-Kanchan road at the Hatabo Jelepara area of Bhulta Union on Wednesday morning. 

The three deceased were identified as Ram Das, 70, Ebadullah, 70, and Hridoy, 27, Bhulta Police SI Johirul Islam confirmed. 

According to locals and eyewitnesses, Ram Das and Ebadullah were buying fish from the roadside when a fast-moving car lost control and ran over the two men, killing them on the spot. Three pedestrians named Abu Taher, Radhamon and Sworbosor were injured. They were taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). 

On the other hand, three men named Hridoy, Munna, and Shanto from Dhaka's Notun Bazar area visited Rupganj on a bike around dawn. They were returning at around 7 am when their bike collided head-on with a brick-laden trolly. Hridoy died on the spot while Munna and Shanto were taken to the DMCH. 

Both the private car and the trolly driver were detained in the incidents, the SI said.
