36 Rohingyas, including 10 children, trespassed into Bangladesh

A fishing boat carrying 36 Myanmar nationals of Rohingya ethnicity, including 10 children, has trespassed into Bangladesh. They entered Bangladesh through the Mundar Deil Ghat at Sabrang at Teknaf of Cox's Bazar on Sunday afternoon. 

Confirming the matter, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has said they have taken the Rohingyas into custody and they will be sent back. Among the 36 are five women, 10 children and 21 men. 

According to Teknaf's local UP member Md Selim, another boat filled with Rohingya people is floating on the sea. 

One of the Rohingyas named Alam, 30, said he is a resident of the Nanshong area, east of Akyab (now Sittwe). The Arakan Army is harassing the Rohingya there, so they boarded a wooden boat and decided to enter Bangladesh five days ago. On Sunday, the engine broke and a trawler brought them to the BGB.
