5 killed in Faridpur train-microbus clash

A train collided with a microbus at the Gerda rail crossing of Faridpur, killing five passengers of the microbus and injuring four others. 

The accident happened at around noon on Tuesday. 

The Modhumoti Express Train was going to Dhaka via Khulna. On the other hand, the microbus from Dhaka was headed to Munshibajar. 

The collision killed three on the spot, Faridpur Fire Service Station Official Md Nazrul confirmed from the spot. Two others died when the injured were being rushed to a hospital, eyewitnesses said.  

According to locals, the microbus fell into a ditch next to the road after the accident. Next, the cylinder in the microbus exploded. 

Locals also confirmed that there was no gateman at the rail crossing.
