2 killed in Pabna road accident

Two CNG passengers were killed and two others injured after a brick-laden trolley hit a CNG auto-rickshaw at Mohishkola on Dhaka-Pabna highway on Tuesday morning.

The two deceased were identified as M Mamun Hossen, 32, son of late Badsha of Pukpara in Sherpur upazila under Bogura district, and Nanita Rani, 45, wife of Prashanton Mistri of Charkandi in Aminpur upazila of Pabna district.

Saidur Rahman, Office-in-Charge of Sathia police station, said the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was heading towards Bera after picking up passengers from Kashinathpur in Pabna when the brick-laden trolley rammed it from behind at Mohiskola, leaving two passengers dead on the spot.

Later, they were rushed to Bera Upazila Health Complex in a critical situation. The bodies of the deceased were sent to a hospital for autopsy.

The trolley driver and the helper managed to flee the scene, so no one was arrested, the OC added.
