3 vehicle collision on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway injures 12

A collision involving three vehicles on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway injured at least 12 passengers on Saturday morning. The incident caused a 3-kilometre-long tailback on the expressway. 

According to locals and eyewitnesses, a Mawa-bound Suravi Paribahan bus hit a Green Dhaka Paribahan bus from behind in the Neemtala area at around 9am. The Green Dhaka bus lost control and hit a patrol car in front of it. The accident critically injured 10-12 passengers of the Suravi Paribahan bus. 

Confirming the matter, Hasara Highway Police Station Officer in Charge Abdul Quader Jilani said several people were injured. They were sent to various hospitals for treatment. 

Traffic returned to normal on the expressway, the OC added.
