Fire breaks out at several resorts in Sajek

A massive fire broke out at several resorts in Sajek of Rangamati on Monday afternoon. Local people and administration are working together to bring the fire under control, said Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Aktar. 

According to locals, the fire started from the Eco Valley Resort at around 12:45pm. The fire soon engulfed several resorts including the Sajek Obokash Resort. 

Locals started trying to curb the fire immediately. As there is no fire service at Baghaichhari, Dighinala Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) is sending firefighters to the spot. 

Indrajit Chakma, owner of Hillview Resort, said that around 15-16 resorts have been razed to the ground already.
