Sajek reopens to tourists

The district administration has reopened Sajek valley at Rangamati’s Baghaichhari upazila for the visitors, revoking an earlier order discouraging people to travel this popular tourist destination following a devastating fire on Monday.

Additional District Magistrate Pathan Md. Saiduzzaman issued an instruction regarding the reopening of Sajek for tourists at 2:14 pm on Tuesday.

Due to the terrible fire that broke out at Sajek Tourism Center in Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati district, tourists’ travel to Sajek was temporarily discouraged from February 25, considering their safety.

A special meeting of the district administration was held this noon at Sajek to discuss the fire situation and tourist travel.
