One killed, 3 injured in Jamalpur road crash

One person was killed and three others were injured when a battery-run auto-rickshaw was crushed by a bus on the Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway in Sharifpur area in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The accident took place around 8:30am when a Jamalpur-bound Bus from Mymensingh crushed the auto-rickshaw. The identity of the victims could not be confirmed immediately.

Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Police Station confirmed the incident.

Following the accident, local people set fire to the bus.

Later, a team of fire service and civil defence rushed to the spot, rescued the injured passengers and doused the blaze. 

The injured were admitted to Jamalpur General Hospital. Two of them were referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
