RMG workers block Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway again

The workers of an RMG factory have blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway after a worker's death early on Wednesday morning. 

Workers of the Golden Refit Garments Ltd factory started their protest at the Bagher Bazar area at around 8am and proceeded to block the highway soon afterwards. 

According to the protesting workers, Jannatul Ferdous Tamanna, 32, was on her way to the factory at around 5:40am when a vehicle ran her over. They are blocking the highway to protest her death. 

Workers demanded the arrest and punishment of the vehicle driver. They also called for compensation for the victim's family. 

Confirming the matter, Joydebpur Police Station Officer in Charge Abdul Halim said they are trying to negotiate with the workers so they lift the blockade.
