Ambulance-van collission kills 3 in Jashore

A head-on collision between an engine-run van and an ambulance on the Jashore-Benapole Highway killed three, including a woman and a child, on Wednesday. Two others were injured in this incident. 

The accident occurred in the Nobinnagar area under the Jhikargaccha Upazila at around 6am. The three deceased were identified as Jhikargaccha's Godkhali area resident Nazma Khatun, 50, Bamonali village's Hasan Iqbal, 30, and his daughter Rotna Khatun, 12. All three were passengers of the van. 

Confirming the matter, Jhikargaccha Police Station Officer in Charge Bablur Rahman Khan said, the ambulance was going towards Benapole. The collision occurred when the van came from the opposite direction. 

The injured were admitted to the Jashore 250-bed General Hospital. The bodies of the deceased were taken into police custody.
