40 villages in Chandpur celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr

Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for Muslims, is being celebrated on Sunday in 40 villages in the Chandpur district with great enthusiasm and religious fervour on Sunday.

Followers of the Sadra Darbar Sharif have been celebrating Eid, mirroring the Saudi Arabian schedule, for nearly 95 years. 

The Eid Jamaat was held at 9am on Sunday.

These villages traditionally observe Ramadan and both Eids in accordance with the Saudi Arabian and Middle Eastern countries' calendars.

Aside from Chandpur, residents of some places in Noakhali, Lokkhipur, Bhola, and Shariatpur are celebrating Eid on Sunday, mirroring the Saudi Arabian schedule.
