Two children drown in Noakhali

Two children drowned in a pond at Dakshin Char Clerk village under Subarnachar upazila of the district of Noakhali on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Pakhi Akter, 7, daughter of Monu Mia, a day labourer of Dakshin Char Clerk village, and Alisha Akter, 7, daughter of Saifur Rahman Masud of the same village.

Both victims were students of Fakir Market Nurani Madrasa.

Officer-in-Charge of Char Jabbar Police Station Mohammad Shahin Mia said the two children went to the pond to take a bath. As they did not know how to swim, they drowned.
