BSF detains 2 Bangladeshis from Birol border, locals grab 2 Indians in retaliation

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly picked two Bangladeshi men up from the Birol border in Dinajpur on Friday, locals said. In response, local Bangladeshis also grabbed two Indian nationals.

The incident occurred near Birol Upazila's Dharmapur Union's Dharamjoyn border area's Sub Piller 10 of Main Piller 320, at around 11:30 am. 

Dharmapur Union Chairman Nur Islam and Biral Police Station SI Kauser confirmed the matter. 

The two detained Bangladeshis were identified as Israil Islam's son Enamul Islam, 50, and Enamul Islam's son Masum, 15. 

Locals said farmers Masud and Enamul were harvesting paddy near the border when BSF personnel allegedly crossed into Bangladeshi territory and detained them. 

Later, local Bangladeshi villagers grabbed two Indian citizens as retaliation. They were later handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
