25 villages in Madaripur celebrate Eid-ul-Azha

In accordance with countries in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, 30 thousand people in 25 villages of Madaripur are observing Eid-ul-Azha on Friday. 

The district's biggest Eid-ul-Azha jamaat (congregational prayer) was held on the grounds of the Talluk Govt Primary School in the Sadar Upazila at 9:30 am. 

According to the locals, followers of Hazrat Jan Sharif Shah Sureshwari (R) have been observing Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Eid-ul-Azha in time with Middle Eastern countries for more than 150 years. 

The villages that follow this tradition include Charkalikapur, Mahisherchar, Purba Panchkhola, Jajira, Katla Baherchar, Talluk, Chargobindapur, Pokhira, Khowazpur, Doulatpur, Kalikapur, Hosnabad, Raghurampur, Angulkata, Hajambari, Baherchar, Keranirhat, Ramjanpur, Koyaria, Ramarpul, Sahebrampur, Andarchar, and Khaserhat. 

Surshwar Darbar Sharif's 'murid' Md Iqbal Sardar said the devotees in this region observe both Eids in this manner.
