Accident on Kalurghat Bridge: Probe committee formed, 4 staff suspended

A four-member probe committee was formed to investigate the train accident on the Kalurghat Bridge in Chattogram on Thursday. 

The committee was ordered to submit their report within the next three days. Meanwhile, three railway staff were suspended in connection with the incident. They are- Parzatan Express train Guard Sohel Rana (Headquarters, Chattogram), Loco Master Golam Rasul, (T number-530), Assistant Loco Master Amin Ullah (T Number-723), and temporary gatekeeper (TLR) Mahbub. 

Rezaul Karim Siddique, public relations officer of the Ministry of Railways confirmed the matter on Friday morning. 

Three people, including a child, died and at least five others were injured after a train collided with several CNG-run autorickshaws and motorcycles on top of the Kalurghat Bridge in Chattogram late on Thursday night.
