Bus-motorcycle collision killed 3 friends in Narsingdi

Three people on a motorcycle were crushed under the wheels of a bus at around 11pm on Monday. 

The accident occurred at the Bandardia Petrol Pump area on the Itakhola-Shibpur Regional Highway of Shibpur Upazila. The three deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 22, Ashik, 22, and Opu, 20. They all hailed from the Mirjakandi village under the Machimpur Union. 

According to police, the fire service, and eyewitnesses, all three friends were riding a motorcycle. They were coming back from Narsingdi to Shibpur late at night. A speeding bus hit them head-on near the Bandardia Petrol Pump and fled. The accident critically injured all three of them. Locals and fire service members rescued them and rushed them to the Shibpur Upazila Sadar Hospital, where the duty doctor declared Saiful and Ashik dead. Opu was being taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died on the way. 

Confirming the matter, Shibpur Model Police Station Duty Officer Hosne Ara Begum said the bodies are kept at the police station. They will be sent to the morgue.
