1 killed, 8 injured in Bagerhat road mishap

One person was killed and eight others were injured in a road accident in the Mulghar area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat early on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when the driver of an Imad Paribahan passenger bus lost control over the steering and hit a roadside tree in the area at around 2:30am. 

Confirming the matter, Mollahat Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Nurujjaman said one passenger died on the spot while eight others, including the driver, were injured. Six of the injured were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment. 

The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed as of 11am on Tuesday. The body was kept at the Upazila Health Complex.
