Mother, son, daughter beaten to death over drug dealing

A mother, son, and daughter were brutally beaten to death in Muradnagar of Cumilla over allegations of drug dealing.

The incident occurred around 9:30 am on Thursday in Karaibari village under Akabpur union of Bangura Bazar police station.

The victims were identified as Roksana Akhter Ruby, her son Russell Mia, and her daughter Jonaki. Another daughter, Ruma, was critically injured and sent to the hospital.

Bangura Bazar police station OC Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating that locals accused the family of long-term involvement in drug smuggling.

"The villagers beat them to death," he said, adding that the police are investigating the incident.

Police will provide further details later, he continued.
