Police vehicle torched in Gopalganj ahead of NCP march

A police vehicle was vandalised and torched ahead of the National Citizen Party's (NCP) scheduled July march programme in the Ulpur area of Gopalganj on Wednesday morning. 

Confirming the matter, Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Officer in Charge Mir Md Sazedur Rahman said, NCP's march programme was scheduled at the city's Pouro Park. Central leaders of the party are expected to attend. 

"Supporters of Chhatra League District General Secretary Ataur Rahman Pial have vandalised and torched a police vehicle in the Ulpur area to spoil the programme," the OC said. 

Police have reached the spot, but no information was found on casualties, he added.
