Push-in from India exceeds 2,000

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 55 people through the border in Sylhet, raising the number of push-ins to 2,004 since May 4 this year. They were detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).  

Confirming the matter, 48 BGB Captain Lt Col Md Nazmul Haque said there are 33 women and 10 children among those pushed in on Wednesday. 

According to BGB sources, 19 people of seven families were pushed in through the Kalairag border area under  Companiganj upazila of Sylhet. On the other hand, 13 people of nine families were pushed through the Mokampunji of Shripur under Jaintapur upazila. 

Two people of the same family were pushed in through Naljuri of Tamabil. And lastly, 21 people of eight families were pushed in through Chhanbari of Noakot in Chhatak, Sunamganj.
