Truck-microbus collision kills 6 in Natore

A head-on collision between a microbus and a truck has killed six people at Baraigram of Natore. The accident occurred at the Tarmuj Pump area of Bonpara-Hatikumrul Highway on Wednesday morning. 

Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Md Aktar Hamid Khan confirmed the matter to the Daily Samakal.

The identity of the six deceased could not be confirmed immediately. Five of them are women and the other one is a man. 

According to the fire service, the truck from Dhaka was heading towards Rajshahi, while the microbus from Rajshahi was headed in the opposite direction. After the collision, two people were injured. One of them was taken to the Baraigram Amena Hospital, and the other one was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. They are both in critical condition. 

A three-kilometre-long tailback formed on the highway after the collision. Police are working to control the situation, Baraigram Police Station Officer in Charge Golam Sarowar said.
