JSS-UPDF clash in Dighinala, 4 reportedly dead

A clash broke out between Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (Santu Larma-led JSS) and United People's Democratic Front (Prasil-led UPDF) at Dighinala of Khagracchari. Four people were reportedly dead in the shootout that occurred on Friday night. 

Dighinala Police Station Officer in Charge Md Zakaria said the incident occurred at the Jora Sindhu Karbari area, 3 km South-East of Naraichhari of Babchhara union. However, he could not confirm the casualties. 

As the shootout happened in a remote area, police should not go there without the assistance of joint forces, he said. 

However, UPDF has denied the claim that four of their men died in the clash. 

No statement could be taken from JSS in this matter.
