Three including students killed in Sunamganj road crash

Three people were killed and another injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the Bahadurpur area in Sunamganj Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon. 

The deceased were identified as Shantiganj Textile Institute student Afsana Jahan Khushi, Sunamganj Science and Technology University student Sneha Chaktabarti, and Shafikul Islam, 50. They were all passengers of the auto rickshaw. The injured passenger was identified as Oishi Rani Paul. 

According to locals, a Sylhet-bound bus from Sunamganj and a Sunamganj-bound CNG auto rickshaw collided head-on at around 12:45pm. 

Additional Police Superintendent Md Jakir Hossain said the bodies were recovered and sent to the Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The bus was seized. The driver and helper of the bus fled the scene.
